The groundbreaking ceremony for the National Road Reconstruction Project of Cambodia No. 11 was held in the province of Borneo recently. The reconstruction project is a Chinese government-sponsored buyout loan support project. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Xiong Bo and thousands of local residents attended the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Hun Sen pointed out that the Chinese government has long supported Cambodia’s infrastructure construction and made important contributions to Cambodia’s economic and social development and improvement of people’s livelihood. He said that the Chinese government has helped Cambodia build 23 roads totaling more than 2,000 kilometers. China’s help is not only conducive to the accelerated development of Cambodia, but also conducive to Cambodia’s independence and independence.
Xiong Bo said that the Chinese government has implemented a large number of infrastructure and livelihood projects in Cambodia through grants and preferential loans to help Cambodia accelerate development and improve people’s livelihood without any political conditions. It is believed that the completion of the reconstruction of the No. 11 Highway will effectively increase the level of interconnection and interoperability in the region, effectively promote regional economic and social development, bring tangible benefits to local residents and businesses, and become a road to prosperity and happiness.
The Cambodian National Road No. 11 connects Polokyang and Tebenkomong Provinces and connects National Highway No. 1, No. 7 and No. 8. It is an important part of the highway network in central Cambodia. The highway has a total length of 96.48 kilometers and was built by China Road and Bridge.
